Apply now, secure admission - Pre-Master (preparatory semester)

This is what you need for admission to the program:

• a successfully completed bachelor's degree, comprising at least 180 ECTS points, or
• an equivalent course of study at a university or university of applied sciences or a foreign university of equivalent level, and
• the application documents as well as
• participation in a multi-level entrance test (written and oral).

Please register online for the?admission test. You will then receive a confirmation of enrolment with a link to our application portal and the concrete date.

The admission process at ISM currently consists of a case study and an (online) interview with the study program director. You will present your results of the case study in an oral presentation on the day of the admission interview.

Case study preparation

If you're a Master applicant, prior to your admission day you will have to prepare a?case study or presentation?that you will also have to upload online.

This case study presentation can include presenting the main results/summary of your Bachelor's thesis?or?of an extensive term paper?or?- alternatively – can be on a predefined case study topic that our study advisors will send you in advance.

You will receive an email with exact instructions on the requirements of the case study from us.

Online interview & case study presentation

You will receive an email confirming your admission test day on which you will have an?interview with the study program director.?The goal of this interview is to get to know you and your personal background better. We look forward to getting to learn about your professional and personal goals and your motivation for your studies.

All you need to do is rehearse you presentation and show up on time for the online interview. Once you've had your interview, you await the admission committee's decision, which usually only takes just a few days. Then you will receive a study contract, sign it and start enrollment at ISM.

You will receive a link to our Online Application Portal after your registration for the?admission process. There you can easily upload the following documents in?PDF file format:

• Curriculum vitae (CV)
• Copy of your national ID card
• Digital passport photo?(colored, jpg format, high resolution).
• Letter of motivation
• Certified?(authenticated)?copy of your first degree certificate?(in English or German).
  If the certificate is not yet available at the time of application, please submit the current overview of grades of the examinations completed up to this point (transcript of records). If you have obtained an international degree, please contact your?student advisors?to check if you fulfil admission requirements.
• Proof of English language knowledge
  For your masters, you can prove your proficiency in the English language as follows:
  • Certificates: TOEFL (at least a score of 80, internet-based), IELTS (at least 6.0) or Cambridge (FCE) test score or
  • A degree in English Studies or
  • Have at least 30 ECTS in an English-language higher education program or
  • Proof that you are a native speaker (will be assessed on a case-by-case basis).
• Proof of health insurance in Germany (only if already available). This can also be submitted at a later time, before you start your studies in Germany.
