ISM course gains practical insight into modern retail concepts with Magic Mirrors at The Store Designers

A successful retail experience can only be created when product ranges, architecture, design, sales and marketing are considered together and the relevant considerations are incorporated into a suitable concept. This is what students on the Luxury, Fashion and Sales Management Master's course at the ISM Cologne campus were able to experience with their lecturer Dr. Rainer Schmidt as guests at The Retail Experience GmbH “THE STORE DESIGNERS”.


THE STORE DESIGNERS is a management consultancy in the retail sector and pursues a holistic, strategic approach that supports both long-term transformations and develops short-term measures. The professionals work with clients to develop retail strategies, design concepts and communication solutions that bring together all the necessary aspects from development to marketing.

The experts from “The Store Designers” Martin Esser and Maja Florczyk presented the latest trends from projects in the field of digital retail design to the ISM group. “It was very informative for the students to learn how such digital concepts become successful. They were able to experience the latest technologies live in the showroom: from magic mirrors and interactive displays to transparent mirrors", explains Rainer Schmidt, adding:
